Portia Bright Pittman is a dedicated wife of over nine years and proud mother of two sons. With a passion for service and a heart for community, Portia has spent the past five years in real estate as a successful landlord and investor. Her commitment to helping others achieve homeownership and build generational wealth inspired her to become a licensed Realtor, allowing her to serve her clients with even greater impact and expertise.
Portia’s work extends beyond real estate. She serves in a nonpartisan role within the North Carolina House of Representatives and Senate, supporting lawmakers in crafting policy that shapes communities across the state. Her dedication to public service, civic engagement, and leadership is deeply rooted in her belief in justice, equity, and opportunity for all.
An award-winning author, Portia wrote "There Ought to Be a Law: A Bright Day at the State Capitol," a nationally recognized book that introduces youth to the legislative process in a meaningful and accessible way. She is also the Founder and CEO of Bright Books Publishing Company, a platform that champions diverse voices and stories, and a reflection of her commitment to creativity and empowerment.
Portia holds an Associate's Degree in Human Services and Substance Abuse Counseling from Pitt Community College. She has also completed esteemed programs at Cornell University’s Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship.
